3 DAYS TO MERZOUGA DESERT FROM MARRAKECH
RESERVE NOWDAY 1: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADÉS VALLEY
Marrakech will be our starting point towards Ouardazate. And our meeting will take place at 8:00 in the morning at the hotel or riad where you are staying.
On the way we will cross the Tizi N’Tichka pass, the highest in North Africa. Later, we will visit the Argan Oil cooperative, where we will discover the process of making this oil and they will explain to us the innumerable benefits it has both for health and beauty as well as for food.
Then, we head to the fortified town of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and has been the backdrop for many films such as Gladiator or the Jewel of the Nile. We will have lunch in Ait Ben Haddou before continuing on the road to Ouarzazate. A very well-known city in terms of cinematography and is called the gateway to the Sahara. Then, we will discover the kasbahs of Taourirt and Tiffoultoute, the Valley of Roses, the large palm grove of Skoura, Boumalne and Dadès, to enjoy the ”monkey fingers”, a rocky landscape known as “the brain of the Atlas”. Dinner and accommodation in the Dadès Valley.
DAY 2: DADÈS VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – ERFOUD – RISSANI – MERZOUGA
A new day is about to begin. After having a delicious breakfast, we will visit the spectacular Dadès Gorges, and we will enjoy the wonderful panoramic views that the road to them offers us. Then, we headed to the Todra Gorges. Its riverbed reaches up to 200m in altitude, and it is a place of great beauty. It should be noted that lunch will be free.A continuación, pasaremos por Tafilalet, Erfoud y Rissani hasta llegar a las impresionantes Dunas de Merzouga. Tan pronto como lleguemos se nos dará la bienvenida con un delicioso vaso de té y aprovechamos el tiempo para descansar un poco
Más tarde, partiremos en una caravana de dromedarios hacia la Gran Duna del desierto Erg Chebbi en un paseo de una hora y media aproximadamente. Allí, asistiremos a la maravillosa puesta del sol que nos deleitará con su belleza. La cena y el alojamiento tendrán lugar en una jaima bereber bajo el cielo estrellado y cenaremos en pleno desierto mientras escuchando música tradicional.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA – OUARZAZATE – HIGH ATLAS – MARRAKECH
On the third day of the trip, it is advisable to wake up early to be able to attend the wonderful sunrise over the sand dunes. Then, we return to the hotel in Merzouga to have breakfast and shower. Later, we will depart via Marrakech; passing through different towns such as Alnif, Tazarine, Nkotb until reaching Ouarzazate. We will return along the same route, crossing the High Atlas. In the afternoon we arrive at our destination.
