5 DAYS FROM MARRAKECH TO MERZOUGA

1 Day: Arrival in Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Upon arrival at the airport in Marrakech, we will take you towards the south of Morocco, crossing the High Atlas through the Tizi Ntichka pass (2,260m altitude) making our way through numerous villages of Berber nomads that inhabit the area. Spectacular landscape that will take us to the Kasbah of Telouet, one of the best preserved to date.
Time to visit the kasbah and have lunch in a typical restaurant in the area. Then, we headed to another of the best preserved and most famous kasbahs in all of Morocco, the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, famous for being the setting for more than twenty films, such as Babel, Gladiator, Obelix, Sahara with Penelope Cruz. Arrival in Ouarzazate in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

2 Day: Ouarzazate – Rose Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga

We will continue via Merzouga, crossing the Rosas Valley, to enter the Todra Gorges, where you can take a pleasant walk among its imposing canyon with walls more than 200 meters high. Lunch in a restaurant in the Gorges and continuation towards the desert until reaching the impressive Dunes of Merzouga. Once there, we will be given a glass of hospitality tea. We rest a little, we will leave our suitcases at the lodge and we will go in a camel caravan to the camp in the heart of the desert.

3 Day: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Nomads – Merzouga

Today is a new day and a new adventure awaits. The first step towards it is to have a good and delicious breakfast to be well prepared to discover the dunes of Merzouga. Starting with the Great Dune of Morocco, more than 250 meters high. We continue through the Tissardmin oasis and we will make a special stop at a panoramic point where we can contemplate the Erg Chebbi as a whole. Then, we will visit the Berber village of Khamlia where you can enjoy a small show of Gnawa music that is well known in the area. Around 4:00 p.m., we will ride the camels towards the heart of the desert to appreciate the beautiful sunset and have a cup of tea upon arriving at our camp. Delicious dinner, drum music, unique landscapes, starry sky, Berber tent, stories and laughter, and new memories are being created.

4 Day: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Draa Valley – Zagora

We will wake up early to watch the sunrise from the Great Dune.
Return by camel to the lodge for a shower and breakfast. Then, we will leave for Rissani; one of the imperial cities and containing the largest souk in all of Southern Morocco. Market where many desert nomads go to make their purchases. The landscapes that we will see along the way to the Draa Valley are impressive. There, we plan to make several stops to enjoy the valley next to the river that bears the same name and is the longest in Morocco. Furthermore, this river crosses the entire country to Mauritania. The last stop will take place in Zagora: current administrative center of the area and the richest in date production. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel.

5 Day: Zagora – Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech

On the way to Marrakech, we will pass through Ouarzazate where we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, Tifoultoute and the Cinema Studios that are very well known in the area.
After crossing the Tizi N’ Tichka pass, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant in the mountains. Next, we will visit an Argan oil cooperative in order to discover the production process and they will explain to us the numerous benefits that Argan oil has both aesthetically and for health in general. Once in Marrakech, we will take a walk through the Jamaa el Fna square and have dinner in the typical stalls that fill the square.
